President: Mikey Brown

Mikey is President of UKQB. He is pursuing a PhD in Political Science at the University of Birmingham, where he is Tournament Secretary. His non-quiz interests include being old, political betting, Irish history, watching cricket, pro wrestling and board games.

Treasurer: Benjamin Watson

Hi, I am the UKQB treasurer for 2026/27 - please get in touch if you would like money or would like to give me money. After periods studying (and quizzing) at Warwick and Oxford, as well as working in a wine bar, I have just started a PhD in English at the University of Hull, where I am researching cultural and economic representations of the fishing industry. Outside of that, I enjoy hiking, cooking, reading, writing, listening and thinking, among other pursuits.

Secretary: Kai Madgwick

Kai is the Secretary of UKQB, and a third year PhD student in AI and Astrophysics at Manchester University. They are also the President of Manchester University Quiz Society, and former 2-year president of Durham University Quiz Society. If you catch them whilst they are not quizzing or trying to make their code work, they will be crafting a new hat/jumper, swimming, or playing several roguelikes. Probably not all at the same time.

Tournament Supervisor: Edgar Hughes

Hi, I'm Ted, and I'm in charge of UKQB tournaments this year! I first got into quizbowl while studying Linguistics at Cambridge, where I was also president of QuizSoc. In no particular order, some of my favourite things are: dogs, spreadsheets, organometallic chemistry, paleogenetics, the history of religion, Egypt, trains, syntax, rocks and local bus networks.

Blog Manager: Thomas Roberts

Tom is the Blog Manager for UKQB and is now doing a PGCE at Sheffield Hallam University, having previously studied History and Politics at the University of Sheffield.

When not involved with quiz, you can usually find Tom listening to an ever-growing backlog of albums, reading a Kurt Vonnegut book, or watching Leeds (United or Rhinos).

Outreach Officer: Oliver Morten

Oliver is this year's Outreach Officer and is studying for an MA in History at Cardiff University. He's also the Treasurer and Quizbowl Officer at Cardiff University Quiz Society, and was formerly President. When not trying to learn literature questions on QBReader, Oliver can usually be found playing one of various instruments, on a train to an obscure Welsh village or walking for long distances near large bodies of water.

Communications Officer: Jacob Price

Hi, I'm Jacob! I studied physics and astrophysics at Cambridge and Sheffield from 2021-26, and represented the Sheffield team on University Challenge in the 2025-26 season. I've served on the UKQB committee since 2025, and my quiz interests are generally all related to popular music in some way.

Social Media Manager: Izzy

Izzy is going into her third year studying English Literature at Sheffield. When she isn’t not doing her reading, not remembering to update the linktree and not buzzing on things she claims to know she can be found going on long walks and reading romantasy.

Safeguarding Officer: CT

CT (pictured in the centre, with siblings Panda and Cody on the left and right) did his BEng in Materials Science & Engineering at the University of Sheffield, and is now pursuing a MSci at Imperial College London.

When he is released from the containment chamber, he can be found being tormented by ice hockey, buying books he will not read in time, and touching grass.

Safeguarding Officer: Nathan Easow

Nathan is in his fourth year of studying Medicine at the University of Manchester, and is the Treasurer of Manchester University Quiz Society.

When he isn’t quizzing, he can be found playing grand strategy games, singing, and experiencing the joy and suffering (mostly suffering) associated with being a supporter of Manchester United.

Digital Content Officer: Jamie Burchett

Jamie is UKQB's Digital Content Officer, in charge of video output, a largely practical role despite having done an entirely theoretical MA in Film Studies at Southampton, where they served on the quiz society committee and helped bring them back into quizbowl. They are also a prolific writer for tournaments in both the UK and US circuits.

Outside of quiz, they can usually be found listening to or making music, attempting to improve their fitness or scrolling aimlessly through social media.

Webmaster: Justin Keung

Justin is the webmaster for UKQB and manages this website. He graduated with a BEng Computing from Imperial last year and is now working as a software engineer.

When not quizzing or carding, he can be found playing the piano, visiting galleries, or watching shiba inu reels.

Ordinary Member: Ben Jones

Dedicated his life to QB at the expense of his health and corneas. Tries his best. Loves listening to music and playing recreational poker. Aspiring accountant.

Ordinary Member: Antoni Kluzowski

Hello, I'm Antoni, recently graduated from Warwick with a degree in English Literature & History, and I am helping out UKQB in my first year as OCM. When I'm not being extremely opinionated about how Quizbowl tournaments should be played, run, and written I enjoy studying for them. Other than that I'm quite fond of chess, LARPing as a scientist, and hunting for rodents in the steppes of Mongolia.

Ordinary Member: Agnijo Banerjee

Agnijo is a UKQB Ordinary Committee Member who has been playing student quizbowl since 2022 for Cambridge. They hope to contribute towards maintaining a welcoming environment throughout the quiz circuit (especially with regards to recruiting and retaining new players) and towards the smooth running of the circuit. They are hopefully about to graduate with a PhD in maths at some point.
Quiz specialisms include maths, physics, US political history, mythology, philosophy, and religion.

Ordinary Member: Rhys Lewis

Rhys is about to begin a PGCE at the University of Cambridge to teach maths. Rhys did three years of student quiz at Cambridge, where he was society president for a year, and also during a year at the University of Sheffield, where he did his masters in pure maths. Outside of quiz, Rhys enjoys watching various sports, including the highs (and currently more so lows) of following Liverpool FC, Mercedes and the England Cricket team, listening to and playing music, as well as conducting orchestras, and cooking whatever disgusting slop is on his mind that day.

Ordinary Member: Mia Clark-Webb

Mia is an OCM on the UKQB Committee and is in her fourth year studying Physics at Oxford. At Oxford, she is the Squad Captain, and is determined to make sure Oxford win more tournaments. When she's not quizzing, she's usually “busy” listening to sea shanties or other folk music, editing or writing for the Oxford Scientist, playing GeoGuessr, or alternating between any of the other approximately 20 things she's mediocre at.

Ordinary Member: Joseph Collins

Joseph is an OCM and the chair of Imperial College Quiz Society. Originally from Birmingham, he is entering his third year of a Civil Engineering degree. He has been playing lots of quizbowl since he started at ACF Fall 2024, specialising in history.

Outside of quizbowl, Joseph has an interest in railways and transport infrastructure. He is also a keen German learner and speaker.

Ordinary Member: Elliot Cosnett

Elliot is currently serving as an OCM after recently finishing his MSt in Early Modern History at Oxford; when not quizzing he’s probably reading a history book, a non history book, or an early modern pamphlet.
